Paulo Dybala is again left out of the Argentina squad for World Cup qualifiers, though Roma teammates Matias Soulé and Leandro Paredes are there, along with Lazio striker Taty Castellanos.

The Seleccion are the reigning World Cup and Copa America holders, so at the very top of global football at this moment in time.

Coach Lionel Scaloni is back at work preparing for the next two 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Chile and Colombia.

He named his squad for the games, but after being left out of the Copa America, Dybala is again nowhere to be seen.

La Joya’s future at Roma is in serious doubt after a huge offer from Saudi Pro League side Al-Qadsiah, reportedly worth €20m per season in wages.

His Giallorossi teammates Soulé and Paredes are called up by Argentina.

There is also a first call-up for Lazio striker Valentin ‘Taty’ Castellanos, who scored in last night’s 3-1 Serie A victory over Venezia.

Other Serie A representatives are Inter captain Lautaro Martinez, Fiorentina winger Nico Gonzalez and Atalanta goalkeeper Juan Musso.
