It was a disastrous night for Roma in Bergamo, as not only did they lose 3-1 to Atalanta, but Diego Llorente and Paulo Dybala also sustained injuries.

The Giallorossi were caught in joint fourth place by Milan after this evening’s loss at the Gewiss Stadium, conceding goals from Mario Pasalic, Rafael Toloi and Teun Koopmeiners.

However, the biggest problems came in the final minutes of the match, when they were effectively reduced to nine men.

Defender Llorente was chasing down Duvan Zapata when he suddenly pulled up in agony clutching the back of his right thigh.

He was visibly in tears when making his way to the bench and sat there throughout stoppages, as all the substitutions had been completed.

With that in mind, Dybala also had to finish the match when visibly unable to even put his left foot down.

La Joya had been tackled by Jose Luis Palomino a few minutes earlier, trapping his left ankle underneath in a potential sprain.

Palomino was shown the yellow card for that foul.

It’s a huge blow considering Roma are already without Chris Smalling, Gini Wijnaldum and Rick Karsdorp going into this weekend’s showdown with Milan.
