Paulo Dybala has agreed to join Roma on a free transfer following their decisive move last night.

The Giallorossi did not want to lose out on the 28-year-old to the incredibly interested Napoli and so they made a desperate lunge last night, offering the Argentinian forward a three-year contract worth €6m net per season. This seems to have proved convincing enough, and Dybala is now on his way to the Eternal City.

As reported by Gianluca Di Marzio, Dybala has accepted Roma’s three-year contract offer and will soon become a part of Jose Mourinho’s squad. The transfer will be finalised in the coming days, with medicals likely to take place later this week.

The 28-year-old Argentinian forward will be an exciting addition to Mourinho’s frontline in Rome, being a hardworking and creative second striker who’ll likely work well with Tammy Abraham. In 293 appearances for Juventus, Dybala scored 115 goals and provided 48 assists.

  1. He surely just found out that he wasn’t worth 10m a season as he demanded 6 months ago. He should fire his agent!

  2. Ahhhh…. So when he wanted CL football, he meant Conference League. Makes sense now. A good move for Roma if he can stay fit but he needs to sack his agent.

  3. As a Juve fan, I wish him well; Roma are a the dark horses for me in Serie A this season and should be good to watch. He’s certainly strengthened them further.

  4. As a Roma fan, I really can’t put the guy’s talent into question. Let’s hope he stays fit. He will take Totti’s number 10 in my opinion. A great signing, especially on a free. There must be more bonuses hidden in that package. 6m doesn’t seem enough on it’s own. Forza Roma ! Very badly managed by Juve.

  5. Don’t think he should get Totti’s 10 shirt, but he should be allowed to talk directly to Totti, address him as “Francesco” instead of “Your Majesty” and even make eye contact when doing so, which no Roma player since De Rossi has been fit to do.

  6. Good signing for Roma, with Napoli turning into a midtable team, Roma will finish top 4 certainly.

Inter kinda needed him as 3rd choice forward, but difficult when trash like dzeko refuses to leave. They will be in a tough spot next summer, with zero money and only lautaro on contact (corea as well, but he is an irrelevant serie b quality player who should stop playing football)

  7. Its unbielivieble, he wanted 12mln for season from jjve and now play for roma and we all no he will not make them top 4 team… He is not capable to do that. But I wish him well, and we will have interesting season

  8. A a fan of Mou I just hope Roma at least finishes in the top four, plus a Europa trophy. If they don’t Mou would have been better working with the players he has, providing they keep Zaniolo. Good luck Roma

  9. His agent should have jumped at Inter -the team he wanted in the beginning, but his agent is just greedy. juve dumped him, and he was asking for 7 million originally. I hope Roma‘s fitness coach is way better than Juve’s and we will see what he is worth in 3 years – much more I’m sure when he is not stuck behind ball hogs. He’s a fantastic player who needs a team he can really shine on, hopefully this is it, I guess I now have a new favourite team.

  10. Good luck La Joya💎
To bad Juve ended up not giving him an offer at all.
I wush him the best, just hope he doesn’t do a Pirlo on us 😉

  11. Gi-Al-lorossi, best comment, my man. I also believe Dybala doesn’t warrant a no. 10 shirt.
If anything, I’d give it to Pellegrini. Just by wearing Roma‘s 10, Lorenzo would be perceived differenty. His price would skyrocket, he would instantly grow as a player in the eyes of everyone, fans & opponents, and become an indisputable starter for Italy (wearing Italy’s 10 as well).
Interestingly, this would boost his confidence and motivation, hence actually making him a better player.

Paolo Dybala (and Stephanie noubarian), welcome to AS Roma!
