Udinese will be without Napoli-owned striker Duvan Zapata for four months after he underwent surgery today.

The Colombia international pulled up after scoring the winner in a 2-1 result over Bologna last week.

He was initially diagnosed with a high-grade hip flexor strain in his right leg, but a visit to a specialist in Barcelona confirmed tendon damage.

Udinese released a statement confirming Duvan Zapata has gone under the knife to correct the tendon problem and will be out of action for around four months.

The surgery was performed at the Villa Stuart clinic in Rome by specialists including Professor Pierpaolo Mariani and Professor Attilio Santucci.
