Duvan Zapata concerns grow

Atalanta striker Duvan Zapata is returning to Italy after fears he suffered a serious thigh strain while playing for Colombia.

The striker limped off just 23 minutes into last night’s 0-0 draw with Chile.

A statement from the Colombian Federation confirmed Duvan Zapata has been sent back to his club and will require more tests over the next 48 hours to identify the extent of the injury.

It immediately seemed to be a serious problem and there are concerns he has a right thigh or hamstring strain.
