Duvan Zapata leaves Switzerland with ‘regrets’ after Atalanta were held 3-3 by Young Boys, but they ‘know what we must do’ against Villarreal to stay in the Champions League.

Champions League | Young Boys 3-3 Atalanta: Dea give it away

The Colombian had opened the scoring in Berne after 10 minutes, and La Dea were leading twice only to risk defeat, trailing 3-2 before a Luis Muriel free kick with his first touch.

This result means Atalanta must beat Villarreal at the Gewiss Stadium in the final game of the group phase to reach the Champions League Round of 16.

“There are regrets, because we thought that we were in a position to win the game, but it didn’t turn out that way,” Duvan Zapata told Sky Sport Italia.

“It all depends on us now, we have the final match on home turf and if we win that, we are through. It’s just one result available to us for qualification and we know what we must do.”

They have another huge test coming up on Saturday in Serie A against Juventus.

“We need to rest, it was a difficult pitch to play on, this artificial turf. We’ll think of Serie A first, then Villarreal.”
