“We didn’t change much for the second half, it was pretty good in the first, it’s just we weren’t finish off our chances properly,” the Colombian told Sky Sport Italia.
“We were aware that it was still a great performance, we just needed a bit of luck and patience to score goals, we got that and came close to a third goal at the end.
“The comeback from 2-0 down showed a lot of spirit. I’ve had some great braces in my career, but it’s a very important one. The team is growing, we dug deep into our pride and our football when we were in a difficult moment.”
Liverpool beat Midtjylland 2-0 this evening, so are top of the group on six points, followed by Atalanta on four, Ajax one and Midtjylland zero.
“The point is valuable going forward, so if you don’t win, it’s better not to lose. A point is acceptable, we need to improve in some aspects, but we can build on this spirit.”
