Alfred Duncans hopes to get the chance against Sampdoria this weekend and said he will work hard to claim a spot in Beppe Iachini’s starting line-up.

After four and a half years at the MAPEI Stadium, the Ghana international left Sassuolo for a new adventure in Florence.

He said he is ready to go for his new team and claimed he “can play anywhere” in Iachini’s set-up at the Artemio Franchi.

“I have started training with my new teammates and I think I will be there on Sunday against Sampdoria,” he said at a press conference. “With my characteristics, I can play anywhere. I’m at the coach’s disposal.

“In the middle, I could play both phases and exploit my own characteristics. There are some great players in the midfield here and I will have to work hard to establish myself.”

He revealed that Iachini had been influential in his final decision, but claimed an insisting Fiorentina convinced him it was his best option.

“He was influential, but the club has been trying to get me for a long time and this was very important for me,” Duncan added. “Sassuolo met with Fiorentina and in the end, they came to the agreement that was best for everyone involved.

“This is a team that has everything for a player. They are strong and have come further than many of the other teams. The fans push you to go beyond your limits and do something that nobody would imagine.

“I hope to bring a lot of satisfaction.”
