Denzel Dumfries ‘saw the real Inter, we played with heart’ in the exhilarating 3-3 Champions League semi-final draw with Barcelona. ‘It was a difficult injury for me, but I am back now.’
Confidence was low going into Montjuic after three consecutive defeats saw them go out of the Coppa Italia semi-final to Milan and drop three points behind new Serie A leaders Napoli.
However, they took the lead in this Champions League showdown within 30 seconds thanks to a Marcus Thuram back-heel flick, then Dumfries struck twice with acrobatic finishes.
Barca kept fighting back, equalising for a 3-3 thriller thanks to Lamine Yamal, Ferran Torres and the Raphinha strike that deflected in off Yann Sommer’s back.
Dumfries impressed by Inter heart

“It was a good performance, after three consecutive defeats, I saw the real Inter. We played with heart, I’m proud,” Dumfries told Amazon Prime Video Italia.
“Naturally, we wanted to win, but it was a good game, it’s all wide open and we’ll see at San Siro.”
It will all be decided at San Siro on Tuesday May 6, and because the away goals rule no longer applies, it is winner takes all in Milan.
Inter missed Dumfries during lay-off

Dumfries and Thuram were the two players who have been sorely missed recently due to injury, and it is no coincidence that they both found the net this evening on their return to the starting XI.
“It was a difficult injury for me, but I am back now. We are looking forward, always Forza Inter,” added Dumfries.
Many have said this semi-final will decide who ultimately wins the Champions League this season, as the other clash is between Paris Saint-Germain and Arsenal.
“Everything is possible, we are a strong team and must prove it every time,” concluded the UEFA Man of the Match.

One team played football from other planet while the other did well to capitalise on set pieces. I really hope we get a psg vs Barcelona final. It will be a feast for the ages.
Haha.
Funny you keep commenting but still know nothing about football.
Inter did pretty well scoring some nice goals away . They are more than capable of moving on . Hope they do they are the only decent team representing serie a unlike ac Milan who dishonour their history in this competition
Carleton….
Inter are lucky we aren’t facing Milan in europe as well this season. 5 games, aggregate score of 10-5. It would mean more tears.
Rosario!
So nonsense from you.
“We” are not playing Milan?
Haha. The translator’s mistake?
Who cries more btw? The team that plays CL semi-final or the one that won’t even make it to the CL next season?
Your team even didn’t make to this stage with all that spendings. Did you say no CL next year? Non-stop tears.
