La Gazzetta Dello Sport reports that Inter value Chelsea and Manchester United target Denzel Dumfries at €60m and could use the proceeds of his sale to buy Atalanta‘s Giorgio Scalvini.

Dumfries, 26, joined Inter in a €14m deal from PSV in 2021, replacing Achraf Hakimi, who had signed for PSG for €68m plus add-ons.

Dumfries’ seven goals and ten assists in 65 appearances across all competitions with the Nerazzurri have attracted interest from Chelsea and Manchester United, and according to Gazzetta, the Serie A giants have already informed the Premier League pair that the Netherlands international will be available for €60m next summer.

Atalanta’s Giorgio Scalvini is seen as a potential replacement for Dumfries even if the soon-to-be 19-year-old is not a right wing-back and can play in a three-man defence or central midfield.

Atalanta value the Italian wonderkid at €40m, a fee Inter can’t afford without selling one of their most valuable assets.

The Nerazzurri will offer contract extensions to Milan Skriniar, Matteo Darmian, Edin Dzeko and Alex Cordaz. At the same time, Roberto Gagliardini, Stefan de Vrij, Danilo D’Ambrosio and Samir Handanovic could leave at the end of their deals in June.

Therefore, Darmian would become Dumfries’ replacement while Scalvini would bolster Simone Inzaghi’s options in defence, especially if D’Ambrosio and De Vrij leave.
