Inter star Denzel Dumfries and his club both accepted €4,000 fines after he held up an insulting banner depicting Milan rival Theo Hernandez as a dog during Scudetto celebrations.
The players had been warned to stick to flags and signs celebrating their own success rather than denigrating opponents, something that has seen several players and clubs fined in recent months.
Dumfries held insulting banner aloft
However, the Dutchman broke ranks during the open-top bus parade through the city streets and grabbed a huge banner from a supporter that depicted himself as a character from a video game, with Milan full-back Theo Hernandez as a dog on a leash.
The pair had clashed during the Scudetto decider and both were sent off for that altercation.
The FIGC inevitably opened up an investigation into the banner, but it was announced today that both Dumfries and Inter have accepted a plea bargain, so they will pay a €4,000 fine each.
I’m not Milanisti or Interisti, but this is disgusting. What a bunch of snowflakes.
