Aston Villa have set their sights on Denzel Dumfries for the upcoming summer transfer window and Inter are open to selling the Dutch wing back.

The Villans have seemingly been keeping a close eye on Serie A ahead of the summer, with recent reports linking them to a number of players in the Italian topflight including Bologna star Joshua Zirkzee, Juventus talent Andrea Cambiaso and Napoli captain Giovanni Di Lorenzo.

Inter have been negotiating a new contract with Dumfries for a little while now. His current deal expires in June 2025 and talks over a new deal date back to the first half of the season, where no agreement was reached due to his lofty €5m net per season salary request.

Dumfries interest

Calciomercato.com details how Aston Villa are considering making a move for Dumfries in the coming weeks, wanting to bolster their squad should they beat Tottenham to Champions League qualification in the top four race.

Inter are open to selling the 27-year-old Dutchman, especially for more than €30m, but have offered him a new contract worth around €4m net per year, a little below his previous requests.

Dumfries hasn’t made a decision over his future yet but isn’t currently interested in the idea of joining Aston Villa, believing them to be a step below Inter. His priority is to be part of a club fighting to win the league and Champions League.
