Inter and Chelsea are negotiating for Romelu Lukaku to move on loan, but also for Denzel Dumfries to make a permanent transfer to Stamford Bridge.
The two clubs began direct talks today for the return of Lukaku to San Siro, just a year after his €115m move to London.
Multiple sources including Sky Sport Italia, Sportitalia and Sky Sports UK all confirm Chelsea are open to releasing the Belgium international on a paid loan, perhaps for as little as €10m.
So far, the Inter offer stands at €5m, but they continue the discussions, with Lukaku helping the situation by agreeing to halve his €12m per season salary.
La Gazzetta dello Sport now maintains that the clubs are also talking about Dumfries, although the two deals are not necessarily connected.
Inter are demanding €45-50m for Dumfries, which Chelsea consider to be excessive for the moment.
The Nerazzurri only bought Dumfries from PSV Eindhoven under a year ago for €13.7m.
The Dutch international right-back scored five goals with seven assists in 45 competitive matches.

Now that is good business by Inter. Especially if Lukaku refunds his form.
