Ex-Chelsea striker Didier Drogba could reportedly be set for a surprise summer switch to Rudi Garcia’s Roma.

The Ivorian played a key role in helping current club Galatasaray knock Juventus out of the Champions League earlier in the season.

While Juve themselves are said to be interested in securing the 35-year-old’s services, Lesport10.com report that contact between the Giallorossi and the player’s representatives has already been initiated.

Drogba has scored 20 goals in 53 appearances since arriving in Turkey but, with his contract set to expire and Gala set to miss out on retaining the League title, it is suggested he may want a new challenge.

Roma, who return to playing in Europe’s premier club competition next season, could provide an ideal destination.
