Juventus loanee Radu Dragusin made his debut for Sampdoria in the 2-1 win over Spezia on Friday night. ‘I hope this is the beginning of my growth among the greats’.

The Blucerchiati secured three points in the Liguria derby against the Aquilotti, as Antonio Candreva inspired the home side in the first half of the match.

Emmanuel Gyasi scored an own goal from the former Inter winger’s cross and the 34-year-old then added the second with a neat strike.

Dragusin made his debut in the win and was happy to have contributed to an important win against a rival in the relegation battle.

“It was a beautiful and hard evening,” he told the club’s official channel. “We worked hard and brought home the three points, which was the most important thing.

“We can regain confidence, which is what we needed. I hope this is the beginning of my growth among the treats.

“The goal is to put together more minutes and help the team. It’s the beginning for me here. In my career I have had the opportunity to have many experienced players around me.

“Now, [Fabio] Quagliarella is here and I have a lot to learn from someone like him.”

Dragusin was asked about the objectives at Sampdoria this term, after a difficult start under Roberto D’Aversa.

“We want to finish as high as possible,” he added.
