Juventus loanee Radu Dragusin’s agent asked Romania U21 CT Florin Bratu to ‘not to call up’ the player until he will start and warned the 19-year-old can change citizenship and play for Italy.

The young centre-back from Bucharest is currently plying his trade at Sampdoria on a two-year loan deal at Marassi.

He has not played in Serie A with the Blucerchiati so far and even struggles for playing time at the Under-21 national team in Romania.

His agent Florin Manea is furious and threatened the national team with the possibility of changing to an Italian citizenship.

“What happens if Radu agrees? It has been proposed to us, and he could play in Italy,” he told Gazeta Sporturilor.

“I publicly ask Bratu not to call up Radu anymore until he makes him play, because the player doesn’t want to come without going on the pitch.”

  2. How is he going to change nationality? He’s as Italian as I’m a Geordie. And since when did agents dictate who plays and who doesn’t play for their national team?
