Roma have submitted an offer to Girona for Artem Dovbyk and are serious about fighting Atletico Madrid for the Ukraine striker.

The Giallorossi are still looking for a striker to bolster their frontline following Romelu Lukaku’s return to Chelsea, having missed out on a deal for Youssef En-Nesyri. The club have also been targeting Alexander Sorloth but their offer was rejected by Villarreal.

Roma have now turned their attention to Dovbyk and have been in contact with Girona to submit an offer for the striker, who is also wanted by Atletico Madrid. They had drawn up a proposal worth a fixed €28m plus €5m in add-ons and a 10% future resale clause.

The 27-year-old striker currently earns around €2.5m net per season and would likely command a salary of circa €4m at his next club.
