Roma sporting director Florent Ghisolfi has flown over to Spain for in-person talks with Girona to try and close out a deal for Artem Dovbyk.

Gianluca Di Marzio details how the Giallorossi have already presented an offer for the Ukrainian striker, proposing a deal worth around €30m plus €5m in add-ons, keen to quickly finalise a move after his decision not to join Atletico Madrid.

Girona want a higher fee for Dovbyk, asking for a fixed €35m plus €5m in add-ons, forcing the two parties to continue negotiations. The striker has already made it clear to that club that he’d like to leave for Roma this summer.

Roma push for Dovbyk

Roma director Ghisolfi flew to Spain together with Dovbyk’s agents to meet with Girona on Wednesday and try to close out a deal, likely meeting in the middle of the offer and the request. An agreement could be found for around €32-33m plus add-ons.

The Giallorossi sporting director’s goal is to return to the Italian capital with the 27-year-old later this week, ready to add him to Daniele De Rossi’s squad.
