Roma sporting director Florent Ghisolfi will have a new meeting with his Girona counterparts today to push for a deal for Artem Dovbyk.

The Giallorossi director flew to the Spanish city on Tuesday to hold crunch talks with the La Liga side, keen to snap up the Ukrainian striker this week following the deal for Juventus talent Matias Soule, who has already joined Daniele De Rossi and his new teammates.

Dovbyk wants to join Roma and has snubbed a move to Atletico Madrid, keen to work under De Rossi in Italy. The Giallorossi had offered a fixed €30m plus €5m in add-ons but this was rejected as their Spanish counterparts held firm for a fixed €35m plus €5m in add-ons.

Roma push for Dovbyk

Gianluca Di Marzio details how Ghisolfi and Roma CEO Lina Souloukou will meet with Girona in the coming hours to try and close out a deal for Dovbyk, keen to reach a total agreement quickly so he can fly to the Italian capital this evening.

The Giallorossi could pay €32m plus €6m in add-ons for the Ukrainian striker, and some reports suggest that there could be a clause which would see the costs rise to €40m should none of the bonuses be activated.
