Artem Dovbyk is reportedly close to joining Roma after agreeing personal terms with the Giallorossi and refusing to talk to Diego Simeone who was pushing for a move to Atletico Madrid.

Reports in Italy claim that Ukraine international Dovbyk is ready to join Roma having agreed to personal terms with the Serie A side.

Saturday’s printed edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport, on page 32, claims that the latest La Liga Pichichi has agreed to sign a four-year deal worth €3m per season plus add-ons.

At the same time, the Giallorossi have reportedly sent a €32m bid plus €5m add-ons to Girona. It’s close to Dovbyk’s €40m clause and according to Gazzetta, Roma are confident of getting the deal done in 48 hours.

Gazzetta and Corsport add that Dovbyk refused to talk to Atletico Madrid coach Simeone on Friday when the Argentinean coach wanted to make a final attempt to convince the striker.

Atletico, in fact, have reached an agreement with Girona, but have not shaken hands with the player’s entourage.

Dovbyk agent Oleksiy Lundovsky confirmed that Atletico Madrid’s offer for his client is not good enough. “Atletico are a great club, but we didn’t see a serious project for Artem and their economic offer is significantly inferior to the ones from other clubs interested in La Liga’s best scorer,” he told ukrfootball.
