Seydou Doumbia admits his Roma debut in the goalless draw with Parma was ‘difficult’ but promises to win fans over.

The Ivorian striker made his debut for the Giallorossi yesterday, but failed to impress as the Lupi laboured a goalless draw with a Ducali side which is rooted to the bottom of the table.

“I think the match yesterday was difficult,” Doumbia conceded as he was officially presented as a Roma player.

“I think the match yesterday was difficult,” Doumbia conceded as he was officially presented as a Roma player.

“We had to win, I think we need to work harder to turn those whistles into cheers. Every team, in every season has a negative period, and that’s what we’re experiencing now, but we’re still second.

“I haven’t played much between November and now, but I intend to work hard to finish the season well.

“I’m constantly working to improve everything, I like working so I’ll try to do everything to meet the fans’ expectations.

“I had only trained twice [before playing yesterday], my performance wasn’t the best but I’ll work to make it right.

“I’ve scored a lot of goals in the past, and I believe I’ll do so again.”
