Romeo Agresti reports that Aston Villa midfielder Douglas Luiz has successfully completed medical tests for Juventus in the USA, so the Bianconeri will confirm the Brazilian’s signing by the weekend.

Juventus and Aston Villa are on the verge of completing a maxi-swap deal involving three players.

Enzo Barrenechea and Samuel Iling-Junior will move to Aston Villa in exchange for Douglas Luiz and €25m for the English club.

Barrenechea and Iling-Junior have already completed medicals with Aston Villa.

The same is true of Douglas Luiz, who underwent the first part of a medical examination with Juventus in the USA, where he is currently playing for Brazil’s national team in Copa America.

According to Agresti, Juventus will announce Douglas Luiz’s signing by the weekend.

Douglas Luiz and Monza keeper Michele Di Gregorio are Juventus’ first signing in the Thiago Motta era.

Douglas Luiz, 26, ended the 2023-24 campaign with ten goals and ten assists in 53 appearances across all competitions for Aston Villa.

Iling-Junior made 27 appearances with Juventus, scoring one goal, while Barrenechea spent the last season on loan at Frosinone.
