Douglas Costa out for 15-20 days

Juventus winger Douglas Costa has missed nearly 40 games through injury since joining the club in 2017, and the club have now confirmed that he will be out for a further 15-20 days with his latest setback.

The winger pulled up during the Bianconeri’s 2-1 defeat against Verona with another muscle problem, forcing the Brazilian to hobble off.

However La Gazzetta dello Sport compiled data of every injury the 29-year-old has sustained since joining the Italian champions, and the statistics are quite damming.

Costa has missed 39 games for Juventus through injury in two-and-a-half seasons in Turin.

In 2018-19, the Juve No 11 amassed only 969 minutes on the pitch throughout the season.

This season, Costa has only started seven games in all competitions due to various muscle injuries.

The club have since confirmed that the winger has suffered a left thigh strain, and is expected to recover between 15 and 20 days.

He will therefore miss matches against Brescia, SPAL, Lyon and Inter.
