Former Juventus and LA Galaxy winger Douglas Costa admits he’d love to play for the Bianconeri again: ‘They are my favourite club and I respect Massimiliano Allegri.’
The Brazilian winger left the Allianz Stadium in 2020 after spending three seasons at the club.
He returned to Bayern Munich to then join Gremio and LA Galaxy where he played in the last two seasons.
“It was an incredible experience in a competitive league that keeps growing every year,” Douglas Costa told TuttoJuve.
His contract with the American side expires on December 31, 2023, so he can join a new club in January 2024. Would he like to return to Juventus?
“No player in the world could turn down Juventus. It’s the club of my heart and I’d never say no if they’d call me,” the 33-year-old admitted.
“I dream of being there like in the glory days. Juventus must always be at the highest levels.”
Does this mean he’d return even if Juventus are not as strong as they used to be a few years ago?
“Of course. I’d love the challenge to bring the club among the best in the world and I support Juventus,” insisted the Brazilian winger.
“No player could ever say no. I repeat: nobody could turn down their offer. To wear these colours means to leave everything on the pitch in every game and training session. Juventus are a family, a team of warriors, born to become champions every season.
“I follow each of their games. Allegri is one of the most special coaches I’ve ever worked with. I respect him so much. He gives his best for Juventus, regardless of the circumstances.”
Douglas Costa first joined Juventus in the summer of 2017 from Bayern Munich. He scored 10 goals in 103 appearances with the Old Lady winning three Serie A titles, one Coppa Italia and one Supercoppa.
He netted five times in 35 games during his two-year spell with LA Galaxy.
