Donnarumma warned he is no longer guaranteed gloves at PSG

Italy international Gianluigi Donnarumma had only just found some security at PSG, but that could change again next season under coach Luis Enrique.

When the shot-stopper first arrived in Paris from Milan as a free agent in the summer of 2021, he was competing for the gloves with Keylor Navas.

The 25-year-old had pushed his way forward to become the first choice for the last two seasons, this term playing 42 competitive games and keeping 16 clean sheets.

Donnarumma told to fight for PSG gloves

However, L’Equipe warn that Luis Enrique is planning to go back to basics from next term, as Matvei Safonov, Arnau Tenas and Donnarumma will all be fighting it out for position.

It stands to reason, as Paris Saint-Germain just paid €20m to sign Safonov from FK Krasnodar and curiously he was born on exactly the same day as Donnarumma, making them the same age.

This is probably not what the Italy star expected at this stage of his career, just as he had worked his way to being their Number One.

As he started so young, the 25-year-old has already amassed 251 senior matches for Milan and 114 for PSG.
