Gianluigi Donnarumma’s wage demands for a Milan renewal would make him the second biggest earner in Serie A and the highest-paid goalkeeper in the world.

The current contract is due to expire on June 30, making it an increasingly tense race to get a deal done or risk losing their biggest asset as a free agent this summer.

Agent Mino Raiola is in Italy this week for negotiations with various clubs, including the Rossoneri.

It’s widely reported the offer on the table is €8m per season, whereas Donnarumma and Raiola are demanding €12m.

His current salary stands at circa €6m per season.

According to Calciomercato.com, a figure of €12m would put Donnarumma second only to Cristiano Ronaldo – who earns more than double that sum at Juventus – in Serie A.

It’d also make him the highest-paid goalkeeper in the world, ahead of David De Gea, who is believed to be on €11m per year at Manchester United.
