Gianluigi Donnarumma sent a poignant and emotional message to his former agent Mino Raiola, who passed away a year ago today.
Raiola was one of the most prominent and influential agents working in the world of football, having a number of important clients like Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Erling Haaland, Romelu Lukaku and Paul Pogba.
The super agent sadly passed away on April 30 2022 at the age of 54 following a long illness. His agency and clients were taken over by long-term business partner Rafaela Pimenta and he’s destined to become an important page in the history of European football.
Speaking to Cronache di Spogliatoio, Donnarumma remembered his former agent Raiola and shared his grief a year on.
“Hello Mino, it’s already been a year since that cursed day. Now more than ever we miss you in an incredible way. I miss everything about you: I miss our discussions, our dates, our crazy days, your bullsh*t!
“But you loved me immensely. I truly cherish your messages because they will always be important to me. I send you a hug wherever you are, I always hope to give you great satisfaction and great emotions. You will always be in my heart, close to me.
“A big hug. I love you and I will always love you. From your Gigio.”
Raiola represented Donnarumma for the entirety of his playing career up until his death last year, helping the young Italian receive his first contracts with Milan before successfully completing his free transfer to Paris Saint-Germain.
