Donnarumma on rivalry with Navas: ‘It disturbs me’

Italy goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma revealed the rivalry with Keylor Navas at Paris Saint-Germain ‘disturbs me’, as he was ‘used to always starting’ at Milan.

The Azzurri shot stopper joined PSG on a free transfer after EURO 2020, as his contract with the Rossoneri expired in June 2020.

But the Italy international has struggled to establish himself at the Parc des Princes in the French capital.

So far, the 22-year-old has played twice in the Champions League and five times in Ligue 1, meaning he has only taken part in 38 per cent of the total minutes available at club level in 2021-22.

He continues to be the protagonist with Italy, however, but admitted the battle with Navas at club level is difficult.

“It has no effect on my performances, but it ‘disturbs’ me,” Donnarumma told TNT Sport. “It’s not easy, because I was used to always starting and sometimes it hurts to be on the bench.

“But I’m sure the situation will be resolved.”
