The 17-year-old goalkeeper had a remarkable debut Serie A season, becoming a regular when he was still only 16.
“At the start of the season I didn’t expect to play, so I thank Sinisa Mihajlovic for giving me this chance,” said Donnarumma at the Football Leader awards ceremony.
“I still collect Panini stickers, to be honest.

“I still collect Panini stickers, to be honest. It was difficult to find my own sticker, but in the end I managed it.
“I thank the whole team, as they always made me feel like a part of the group. To be a winning side, you have to be united.”
Yet there was precious little winning at Milan, who failed to qualify for Europe and lost the Coppa Italia Final to Juventus in extra time.
“I cried after the Final, but then I felt more optimistic for the future. We lacked the result, but the performance was good and we have to build on that.
“I don’t know if Brocchi will remain as Coach next season, as that will be decided by Adriano Galliani and Silvio Berlusconi. Brocchi has certainly done well over the last few games. I hope he can stay at Milan.”
Donnarumma was even tipped for a spot at Euro 2016, but the goalkeeper did not make the squad.
“The Nazionale is the ultimate that anyone can aim for. I hope to continue working like this and manage to earn a call-up.”
Unlike the other players, he can’t go on vacation yet, as he has an exam in July.
