Gianluigi Donnarumma is enjoying his new experience at Paris Saint-Germain and is ‘very happy’ to get Lionel Messi as a teammate.
The goalkeeper joined PSG as a free agent after refusing to sign a new contract with Milan.
“I’m getting along very well in Paris,” Donnarumma told Sky Sport Italia.
“I got to know the team, it’s a great group that gave me a wonderful welcome. It’s all going really well.”
There should be another player getting a warn welcome at PSG this week, as Messi is expected to sign on as a free agent after his Barcelona career came to an end.
“We’ll find out soon if it’s official or not, but that would seem to be the case, and I am very happy that Leo is coming here. He’s the best in the world, so I can’t help but be excited and happy. It’s an honour to play with him.”
Donnarumma was given an extended summer vacation after taking Italy to the UEFA EURO 2020 trophy, beating England on penalties at Wembley.
“The image I have in my mind is of the whole squad, in a circle at the end of the game with the staff and coach. That’s what will always be in my thoughts.
“We still have a Whatsapp group and joke around all the time.”
