Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma revealed his ‘strength’ that gave him an ‘advantage’ at an early age and stressed he’s ‘happy’ in the French capital.

The former Milan shot stopper joined PSG after winning EURO 2020 with Italy and the 22-year-old had already played over 250 games with the Rossoneri.

Ballon d’Or: Donnarumma named best goalkeeper

In an interview with PSG’s official website, the former Serie A star explained why he didn’t struggle to establish himself at the highest level at a young age.

“I always wanted to be a goalkeeper, I don’t feel the pressure, and this is my strength,” Donnarumma told the club’s official website.

“I always managed it well, even when I was very young. This gave me an advantage, playing at San Siro at 16 is not at all easy, but I have always tried to stay calm.

“I try every time to give peace and confidence to my team, I’m a motivator.”

Donnarumma said he adapted to his new surroundings straight away and ‘quickly’ started to learn the language.

Despite the lack of playing time, the Italy international stressed he’s ‘happy in Paris’ and vowed to give his all for the shirt.

“I was immediately happy here,” Donnarumma said. “They welcomed me very well in a large group. We all feel good, I’m learning French quickly and the communication with my teammates is very important.

“I make myself understood very well. I’m happy in Paris, there hasn’t been any change and I’m fine with the team, with the club, with everyone here…

“The fans have welcomed me very well, I thank them so much and I promise that I will always give my best for this prestigious shirt, that deserves wins and respect.”
