Although Paris Saint-Germain beat Juventus last night, they still finished second in Group H, something Gianluigi Donnarumma wasn’t aware of until the full time whistle.

Benfica won the group, securing their top spot after a thrilling 6-1 win away to Maccabi Haifa. Juventus’ defeat confirmed their third place finish in the group, relegating them to the Europa League. PSG’s second place finish means they’ll likely have a difficult Round of 16 draw, creating a scary matchup for group winners like Napoli, Bayern Munich and Tottenham.

Speaking to Sky Sports after the win over Juventus, Donnarumma admitted that he was unaware of the second place finish in Group H.

“Honestly unfortunately I only found out about the second place in the group when the match was over.

“Unfortunately it was like that, but it was important to win. Then, who we will face. I’m sure it will be a great match.”

The 23-year-old Donnarumma has performed well for PSG this season, enjoying the more consistent playing time compared to his debut season in the French capital.

The Italian goalkeeper has made 20 appearances across all competitions, keeping nine clean sheets and conceding only 15 goals.
