Multiple reports in Italy claim Radja Nainggolan’s set for a return to Italy having agreed terms with Daniele De Rossi’s SPAL in Serie B.

The former Belgium international returns to the Peninsula one and year and a half after terminating his contract with Inter.

Sky Sport Italia and Gazzetta report the ex-Roma and Inter midfielder is ready to undergo his medical with SPAL and sign a contract until the end of the season.

His stay at the club will automatically be extended by one more season if SPAL get Serie A promotion in 2022-23.

According to Calciomercato.com, Nainggolan will earn €400,000 until the end of the season.

The 34-year-old was suspended by his former club Royal Antwerp after being caught smoking on the bench during a competitive match this past October.

Nainggolan has scored 48 goals in 367 games in Serie A playing for Cagliari, Roma and Inter.

He also played 71 games in Serie B with Piacenza between 2005 and 2010 before a €1.3m move to Cagliari.
