There are reports today that Milan have finally agreed all the details with Club Brugge for Charles De Ketelaere, who should have his medical this weekend, a transfer worth over €35m.

The transfer has dragged on all summer, but at last the breakthrough has been achieved.

According to Calciomercato.com and Belgian reporter Sacha Tavolieri, Milan will pay €32m plus another €3m in add-ons and performance-related bonuses and a 15 per cent cut of any future transfer fee.

Club Brugge had wanted 20 per cent of the future fee, but it will be 15 per cent as long as the sale is over €32m.

The Belgium international also agreed personal terms, a five-year contract worth €2.2m per season.

De Ketelaere has not been training with Club Brugge over the last few days, his coach confirming it was because he was terrified of getting injured and putting this dream move at risk.

The 21-year-old is expected to fly in tonight or tomorrow morning to have his medical over the weekend.

  1. Well said square. I also prefer Adli in ACM and him in RW. With Leao, Adli, De kettle, Origi and Giroud Milan will be the team to beat this season.

  2. Glad it’s finally done. He’s the perfect fit for Pioli’s puzzle, but that’s an incredibly expensive transfer. I guess it goes to show how much the management and the coach wanted him.

He will fit nicely in that AM/CM hybrid position of Pioli, while I expect him to join the attack and score a good amount of goals, too. He was playing as striker recently after all.

  3. I feel like I need a shower and a drink after that transfer, but man, that wasn’t cheap at all. I hope CHARLIE lives up to his potential and price and we absolutely make a bank on him when he helps us win trophies and moves on eventually.

Curious how Pioli will use Adli and CDK together. And more importantly no more reliance on Diaz, Thank God.

  4. @Milan Fan. Indeed, at 35m + 15-20% of any future fee it is a pretty steep price. I really hope it doesn’t backfire.

  5. A perfect buy. Now we can enjoy and see our attack flexibility. Both flank will be much busy.
I really like the boy. But we still need a top central defender

  6. Many so called fans here complaining about the price tag. Well, this is the new footballing landscape. Young promising players don’t come cheap. By the way, Leao was more expensive than this.. 38M Euros.
You can’t progress your team and add reasonable quality without spending decent money.
CDK will turn out. It may take a season or 2,but he will be a star for us

  7. Leao cost Milan 30m. Our most expensive signing ever remains Andre Silva at 38m, and we know how that turned out, along with Piatek and Paqueta who had almost similar price-tags. Kalulu on the other hand …

I have trust in CDK, but it’s not all about money spent.

  8. am just worry the way Italian team are paying too much for player. from Bremen and now De Ketelaere,

  9. I am curious.. i read the negotiation took so long because his current club is demanding 35 mio..but Milan managed to close the deal with 32+3 (add ons) + 15% future resale..it’s going to be 40 mio++ in total

  10. Overpriced at 35m? Have you been following the market, look at EPL. Remains to be seen whether he’ll turn out but at least he’s a young promising player and he really wants Milan, 2.2m for 5 years says a lot for a player who could’ve milked EPL teams for at least double that and shorter contract, so the desire is there and that’s important. If he flops, we can still ship him to EPL for 50m..
