Midfielder Marcos Antonio is just a few steps away from joining Greek side PAOK from Lazio on an initial loan deal with a right to buy clause inserted into his contract.

According to transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio, an agreement has been reached between the two clubs and an exchange of documents is now being processed.

Multiple outlets are reporting that the 23-year-old has now left Rome on a flight heading for Thessaloniki.

Marcos Antonio will likely take part in a customary medical in Greece on Wednesday.

It is believed that PAOK will pay a fee of €300,000 to bring Marcos Antonio on board for the 2023-24 season and that they will retain the right to make the move permanent at a cost of €6m. Lazio will also reportedly retain a 15% sell on clause.

The Brazilian only joined the Biancocelesti last summer, arriving from Shakhtar Donetsk for a fee thought to be in the region of €8m. He has since gone on to make 16 Serie A appearances.
