Monaco striker Keita Balde Diao is returning to Serie A, with reports of a done deal with Sampdoria, on loan with option to buy for a total €13m.

Sportitalia claim the details have all been confirmed and we are just waiting for it to be made official.

It’s €1m for the season-long loan and an option to buy in June 2021 for a further €12m.

The 25-year-old spent much of his career in Italy, coming up through the Lazio youth academy and moving to Monaco for €30m in 2017.

The 25-year-old spent much of his career in Italy, coming up through the Lazio youth academy and moving to Monaco for €30m in 2017.

He also had a brief loan spell at Inter in 2018-19, which cost €5m.

It’s an opportunity for a family reunion too, as his younger brother Ibourahima Balde plays for the Sampdoria youth team.

Born in Spain, but playing his international football for Senegal, Keita started out in the Barcelona academy.

He can play as a forward in any of the attacking roles, on the left, right or central.
