Danilo Cataldi is on the verge of completing a transfer to Fiorentina on loan with option to buy for €5m, but the Viola could get Edoardo Bove from Roma too.

The idea only really sprang to life this morning, but very quickly began to take shape.

Multiple sources including Sky Sport Italia, Sportitalia and Calciomercato.com all state that the deal is done for Cataldi to join Fiorentina from Lazio.

It will be a loan with option to buy set at circa €5m.

Curiously, he effectively swaps places with Gaetano Castrovilli, who left the Viola as a free agent to join Lazio this summer.

Fiorentina want Cataldi and more

Meanwhile, Sky Sport Italia also suggest that Fiorentina are in talks with Roma for outcast Bove.

The midfielder has been linked with numerous clubs and is determined not to leave Italy, so is hesitating on Eintracht Frankfurt, Nottingham Forest and Everton.

Both Fiorentina and Lazio have been chasing Napoli midfielder Michael Folorunsho, but he would definitely prefer the Aquile, as he grew up as a committed fan of the Roman club.

It was announced today that Sofyan Amrabat is joining Fenerbahce.
