Torino defender Alessandro Buongiorno has reached a full agreement over personal terms with Napoli, including the €70m release clause, and will sign on Thursday.
The two clubs had already agreed a transfer fee worth €35m plus €5m in add-ons, as the Italy international only had his sights on Naples, despite some interest from Inter, Juventus and Tottenham Hotspur.
The medical was expected on Monday or today, but as ever with Napoli, the contract negotiations take a little longer to work out the minute details, including image rights.
Buongiorno all set for Napoli now
According to transfer pundit Fabrizio Romano, the lawyers and agents have finalised the paperwork and there will be a €70m release clause that can be activated from June 2027.
The contract for Buongiorno runs to June 2029 at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona.
Buongiorno is set to undergo a medical in Rome and then sign the contract in the offices of Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis.
Meanwhile, Napoli are also ready to extend the contract of midfielder Michael Folorunsho to June 2029 after his loan spell with Verona and participation in EURO 2024.
