Long-serving Atalanta defender Hans Hateboer is set to join Ligue 1 side Stade Rennais on a permanent transfer, according to reports on Sunday morning.

Hateboer set to leave Atalanta

The 30-year-old full-back is set to leave La Dea after seven-and-a-half seasons under Gian Piero Gasperini. His sale is expected to fetch the club a fee in the region of €3m.

Hateboer joins a long list of players who have bid farewell to Atalanta this summer, which also includes Caleb Okoli, who has moved to Leicester City, Aleksej Miranchuk, who has joined Atlanta in MLS, Nicolo Cambiaghi, now at Bologna, plus Roberto Piccoli, Ndary Adopo and Nadir Zortea, who have all joined Cagliari.

At Rennes, Hateboer will team up with former Milan and Roma director Ricky Massara, who has negotiated several deals with Serie A sides this summer, including the sale of Enzo Le Fee to the Giallorossi, and the purchase of Leo Ostigard from Napoli.

Hateboer is set to leave Atalanta after seven-and-a-half years, during which time he made 245 appearances in all competitions and earned 13 international caps for the Netherlands.
