Inter are exchanging documents with Empoli for Albania international midfielder Kristjan Asllani in a deal worth €14m, with Martin Satriano going to Tuscany on loan.

The deal is done, an initial €4m loan with obligation to buy if certain conditions are met for a further €10m at the end of the season.

Asllani is only 20 years old and had his debut Serie A season for Empoli, impressing with a goal and an assist in 23 appearances.

Curiously, the only goal was against Inter in a 4-2 defeat at San Siro in May.

As part of the agreement, 21-year-old Uruguayan striker Satriano will join Empoli on loan after his six-month spell at Stade Brestois.

Asllani’s agent Luca Puccinelli walked into the Inter headquarters in Milan this afternoon for the exchange of documents.

The Albanian is seen as the ideal back-up for Marcelo Brozovic and had also been linked with Milan, West Ham United and Leicester City.

  1. Keep sacrificing Italian talent for foreign players Seria A owners.

Unfortunately, Seria A club owners have no shame nor any interest in helping develop Italian youth talent.

No loyalty to a greater Nazionale anymore.

What a disgrace! Limit 3 foreign players per team.

  2. Football is business, wake up from your nationalist mentality and be realistic that Italians don’t have top talents now like before. Few of them are at the level unfortunately and no top club will take the risk of just signing them because they are Italians. More so, they are overrated and cost more than foreign players who are better than them.

For now, Italians must hope for the emergence of top talents who can compete. They can hype the Scamaccas, Locatellis etc all they like, they are average and no amount of hype can change that.

At the current level, Verrati and Chiesa are the only 2 Italian players who can break into any team on the world. Those are the level of talents am hoping for because whether we like it or not, world football is not complete without Italian football. We all miss Italy and hope to see them come back soon.

  3. James you’re a clown. How can anyone “hope” for emergence of talent if they don’t even get to play!
