Lecce defender Giulio Donati was “so determined to come back to Serie A, as I really missed Italian football. There aren’t many tactics in the Bundesliga.”
He left Inter for Germany in 2013, playing for Bayer Leverkusen and Mainz, before returning as a free agent to Lecce in mid-December.
“After seven seasons in Germany, I was so determined to come back to Serie A, as I really missed Italian football,” the 30-year-old said in La Gazzetta dello Sport.

“There aren’t many tactics in the Bundesliga and the focus is more on all-out attack, so it’s no surprise that at times you can see incredible comebacks from 3-0 down.
“I really wanted to come to Lecce, where I played my only Serie A season, 10 years ago.”
Donati came up through the Inter youth academy and had spells on loan with Lecce, Padova and Grosseto.
