Parma Coach Roberto Donadoni refuses to discuss Antonio Cassano as the Ducali prepare to face Juventus.

Cassano has terminated his Parma contract by mutual consent, after launching a legal challenge to the club for unpaid wages.

The Italian international spoke out about the situation at the club, saying he was owed €4m in wages, but Donadoni refused to be drawn into a war of words.

“Antonio made this choice freely,” the Coach said at his pre-match Press conference.

“I respect his decision, but I’m not going to comment. It was his choice, and it’s right that it’s explained by him and only him.

“Everything becomes more complicated when the required motivation is no longer there.

“Antonio is an important player on a technical level, but we’ve had a lot of major departures this year and we’ll have to overcome this obstacle.”

Despite the turmoil enveloping the club, Donadoni insists that Parma will go out to win tomorrow’s match.

“Tomorrow we’ll aim to honour the Coppa Italia with great dignity. It’s what our fans are asking of us.

“We’ll go out there with spirit and pride to face a first-class team, with great players that is dominating the League.

“Given our position I’d say it’s a great opportunity for us all, an opportunity that we must try to take advantage of.

“We must go onto the pitch with the desire to demonstrate that, despite all our limitations, we have quality and we know what to do.

“At the end of the day it’s 11 against 11 and we’ll try very hard to win.

“There are many things that are out of our hands, but there are also many other factors we can influence.

“We’re angry and feel a sense of shame towards our fans for the results we’ve produced. It’s time to stop blaming others and accept our own responsibilities.”
