Roberto Donadoni complained that Torino’s opening goal “should’ve been disallowed” in his first Bologna defeat.

The Coach had picked up seven points from three games in charge and hadn’t yet conceded from open play, but Andrea Belotti and Giuseppe Vives secured a 2-0 result in Turin.

“We weren’t incisive enough, but it is also beyond doubt that Belotti touched the ball with his arm,” Donadoni told Sky Sport Italia.

“Perhaps the referee wasn’t paying close enough attention in that incident. In any case, we were ineffective from the midfield up, went too deep and focused excessively on defence.

“There’s no point talking about those who weren’t here, as we must all have more belief. This evening’s problems were certainly not down to Mattia Destro’s ban.

“These first few weeks have helped me evaluate the real quality of this squad.”
