Roberto Donadoni admits his Parma side faced Cagliari with the wrong attitude after a 4-0 defeat in Sardinia.

The Ducali are already mathematically certain to be relegated from Serie A at the end of the season, while Gianluca Festa’s side retain faint hopes of beating the drop.

“We knew we were facing a team with great spirit,” Donadoni told Sky after the match.

“Our attitude was what cost us, and I’ll take responsibility for that. We played too slowly, and when others play faster than you it makes life difficult.

“We keep missing the final touch. In the last two games we’ve let our attitude slip a little bit, but there shouldn’t be this relaxation.

“I’m sure we can do better than this. My mind is focused on Parma until the end of the season, then we’ll see about the future.

“It’s important for us to show positive signals, we’ll try and approach the remaining games of the season in the best way possible.”
