Former Italy coach Roberto Donadoni is reportedly in negotiations to take over at Turkish club Galatasaray.

According to Sky Sport Italia, Donadoni has been approached by the SuperLig outfit and a meeting has been set up in Istanbul for today.

However, a great deal depends on whether current director Pasquale Sensibile remains at Galatasaray or is fired, as he is the one pushing for Donadoni.

Italian tacticians are very much in vogue in Turkey right now, with Andrea Pirlo at Fatih Karagumruk, Vincenzo Montella and Mario Balotelli at Adana Demirspor and Francesco Farioli at the helm of Alanyaspor.

Donadoni has been out of the coaching game for almost two years, since his one season in China with Shenzhen FC.

The 58-year-old’s most recent Serie A role was at Bologna from 2015 to 2018, while his most famous job was in charge of Italy from 2006 to 2008.

His other clubs include Livorno, Genoa, Cagliari and Parma.
