Roberto Donadoni says Parma hang on to “a thread of hope” and advises his players to think of the future, not their wages.

The Emiliani are finally picking up some points in the championship now that the dust from their financial crisis is beginning to settle, but with a seven-point penalty could be mathematically relegated today.

“Our objective is to keep going until May 31, hoping that someone comes forward to give Parma a future,” he said in his Press conference.

“But we're still in the same situation; we're hanging on to a thread of hope. We did the same with [Rezart] Taci and [Giampietro] Manenti, until the facts showed us what they wanted,” he said of the club's previous owners.

“Sacrifices have undoubtedly been made, especially by our boys, our supporters and our staff, the doctors and the physiotherapists. So if there's a slim chance that something may be rebuilt, it should be done.”

Donadoni was also asked whether it would be possible to convince the Parma players to give up the unpaid salaries that the club owes them, stretching back to July 2014.

“It wouldn't be possible with those who already stopped playing and need to take money from Parma.

“But if someone still has the opportunity of showing their worth on the pitch, I think they have to think carefully of their future and that of the club.

“Obviously I can't make the choice for them, everyone makes their own decisions, but there's no other solution.

“If we all gave up on something and saved the club, I think that would be the right thing to do.”

The former Italy Coach then went on to speak of today's match against Palermo.

“After the games we played in the last few weeks, we were able to work with greater peace of mind.

“Palermo are an adversary that played an excellent championship so far. We'll have to take things one game at a time.

“We'll need to give it our all in every game, for our future and that of the club. Strong performances can encourage a potential buyer too.”
