The future of Parma Coach Roberto Donadoni is the subject of speculation after a 7-0 defeat at Juventus on Sunday.

The Ducali finished sixth in Serie A last season, but have endured a torrid start to this season.

Following Sunday’s thrashing in Turin, Donadoni’s men sit bottom of the table, leading to inevitable rumours of his dismissal.

According to the Gazzetta dello Sport and Tuttosport the Parma hierarchy are considering replacing the former national team CT with club legend Hernan Crespo, who is pursuing a coaching career after retiring from playing in 2012 and is already on the staff at the Tardini.

However, Gianluca Di Marzio’s website is reporting that the 51-year-old will be given more time to turn things around.

The site says that while Parma were concerned at the manner of defeat at Juventus Stadium, the absence of key players such as Jonathan Biabiany and Mattia Cassani, coupled with a victory over Inter the previous weekend are seen as mitigating factors in Donadoni’s favour.

Di Marzio reports that Parma will expect a reaction when the team face Empoli after the international break, but are ready to put their faith in Donadoni for the moment.
