Roberto Donadoni “expects more from Mattia Destro” after Bologna drew 1-1 with 10-man Fiorentina.

The Rossoblu had gone behind to a Federico Bernardeschi strike, but fought back almost immediately with Emanuele Giaccherini.

“We did everything we had to do and did well, but conceded on the only real scoring opportunity we allowed them,” the Coach told Mediaset Premium.

The Rossoblu had gone behind to a Federico Bernardeschi strike, but fought back almost immediately with Emanuele Giaccherini.

“We did everything we had to do and did well, but conceded on the only real scoring opportunity we allowed them,” the Coach told Mediaset Premium.

“I am pleased with the reaction and we did try to go for the victory until the end. It was a complicated situation and the lads all gave something extra.

“Destro was not in his best shape and this had an effect on the whole team going forward. I do expect more from Destro and I always tell him in training that he needs to play with more intensity.

“In general we need more confidence when controlling the ball, as some players don’t feel comfortable and it’s a limitation we must work on.”

Donadoni was asked if he’d like another chance at a big club after impressive spells at Parma and Bologna.

“My future depends on the present. At the end of the campaign we’ll evaluate Bologna’s season and my work. Personally I am happy at Bologna, where I have a long contract, but clearly everyone is intrigued by the big clubs.”
