Parma Coach Roberto Donadoni admits his side will have a hard job replicating last season, when they finished sixth in Serie A.

The Gialloblu’s League exploits would have earned them European qualification, only for them to not be granted a UEFA license for their alleged late payment of certain bills.

Speaking to Gazzetta Dello Sport today, the former Italy boss added that for now at least, his only aim for the coming campaign is to keep the Veneto side up.

“I don’t have a precise target, it will be crucial to stay in the division,” Donadoni said.

“We need to be focused on reaching that objective, at which point we will have to have the desire to grow.

“The players know they have done something important on the pitch, but they need to be able to leave everything else behind them.

“Having a better season than the last one is difficult, but not impossible.”
