Roberto Donadoni is happy to remain with current club Parma, but he feels ready to take charge of an Italian giant.

“I’ll certainly stay here next season as I recently signed a two-year extension,” the former Italian national Coach told the Gazzetta dello Sport.

“But the desire is to take charge of a big club, I’d like to be at a team who aims to get to the very top – that seems like a natural objective.

“If I am given that chance then I do believe that I have the professionalism necessary to be calm in that role.

“However, my tomorrow is Parma for now. And that is not a less challenging job. You can still collect great satisfaction from working in the provinces.”

Donadoni is a former Milan winger, but he insists his playing career will not have an impact on his coaching future.

“Joining Milan could be a target, but it is not an obsession,” he added.

“A move to Inter or Juventus? Yes, I don’t think a professional can allow the past to affect his thinking.”

Parma are tenth in the standings having collected 39 points from their 31 games so far this season.
